Understanding the Coordination and Monitoring Mechanism
Putrajaya : On July 4, 2012 ICU JPM has received a study visit from the
Senior Officials of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister
of Nepal. The entourage of five was led by the Joint Secretary of
Nepal, Mr. Jagadish Regmi. The welcoming remarks were given by YBhg.
Dato' Seri Ab. Ghani Ariffin, the Deputy Director General Office of
Strategic Development Sector while Madam Nuramalina Ibrahim, the Deputy
Director at Economic Division was responsible to give the briefing on
the topic 'Role of the Prime Minister's Department in Monitoring
The two hours briefing and discussion touched the scope of Monitoring
and Evaluation in Malaysia, the Implementation Coordination Machinery,
the Project Monitoring System and the 10th Malaysia Plan, before the
session ended with the Q & A. Among others, the questions raised by
the delegation pertaining to project monitoring in Malaysia are :
Which are the most important stage of the --- development aspect? Whether planning, implementation or evaluation?
What are the reasons behind the success or overall performance of
9th Malaysia Plan and way forward for the 10th Malaysia Plan?
What are the roles of the line ministry in monitoring the projects?
What are the methods introduced by ICU JPM to improve the process of monitoring and evaluation?
Explanation on the concept and various monitoring approaches in Malaysia.
As a conclusion, the delegation was very much impressed with efforts
and initiatives in discharging its duties in fulfilling the government
aspiration in creating Malaysia as a developed nation by 2020.
From the questionnaire answered by the delegation, they were
satisfied with overall presentation and explanation given by the ICU,
and found our hospitality as a delight.
